Nacozari (sometimes called Naco) Turquoise. It was a mine in Sonora, Mexico. The mine is located south of the Bisbee, Arizona mine in the same mountain range. Many have infact posted this material as Bisbee because it matches so closely the color, hardness and matrix. Nacozari is fast becoming highly collectible as it has become impossible to get. It is now a owned by a Canadian gold mining company and is currently closed and the property monitored closely. I purchased this material from a miner who was able to get it before the mine closed many years ago. The Son and I do all the cutting work we never farm it out. We are Native American gem cutters, we are registered members of the federally recognized Native American tribe Wichita Indians out of Oklahoma.
To be clear “100% NATURAL” it is all turquoise no backing was used If it just says “NATURAL” it is natural and backed with JB Weld.
