Natural White Buffalo material is mined in Nevada. White Buffalo is mined predominantly by the Otteson’s. Tony and Trent are good people and I purchase my rough directly from them. White Buffalo stone originates from the Tonopah Nevada area found in the same general veins as Dry Creek turquoise but has no copper content. The main mineral is Calcite. But depending on the crystalline structure of the Calcite, it morphs into minerals called Dolomite or Aragonite. With a high silica content, this stuff cuts incredible cabs. Steven and I are a Father and Son cutting team the wife helps with photos and mailing so we keep it all in the family. We are American Indian cutters and have been cutting for several years (proof of our Native American heritage is available upon request). We are registered members of the federally recognized Native American tribe Wichita Indians out of Oklahoma.
To be clear “100% NATURAL” it is all turquoise no backing was used If it just says “NATURAL” it is natural and backed with JB Weld.
The photos in this listing are taken in natural sunlight on a white background. I do this because any color background except white can alter the colors in the photo. I realize Direct sunlight and white background is the worst possible conditions to photo in. I do this because I would rather have you say it looks so much better in hand then be disappointed when you get the stone. If you would like a photo in shade just ask.
