The Supernova turquoise claim belongs to Richard Shull, and it is only a few years old. The Mine is located in Esmeralda County, the Candelaria Hills of Nevada. The material made its public debut at the 2021 Santa Fe Indian Market. That said they have only scratched to surface of this mine and so far, the material needs stabilizing with very little hard enough to cut as natural. Richard hopes that as they mine deeper the material will become more solid and Natural will be available on the market, currently most is stabilized. The turquoise varies in color from a beautiful lime green to a clear blue. This turquoise is spotted in a nice caramel brown matrix which only highlights the turquoise. I love how some of the spots of turquoise go from a light green to a green center. The Son and I do all the cutting work we never farm it out. We are Native American gem cutters; we are registered members of the federally recognized Native American tribe Wichita Indians out of Oklahoma.
The photos in this listing are taken in natural sunlight on a white background. I do this because any color background except white can alter the colors in the photo. I realize Direct sunlight and white background is the worst possible conditions to photo in. I would rather have you say it looks so much better in hand then be disappointed when you get the stone. If you would like a photo in shade, just ask.
Size is Approximate give or take .5 mm.
