#8 Turquoise mine is in the Lynn mining district in Eureka County, Nevada. #8 turquoise is one of the most well know turquoise mines in the world. The mine is well known for the beautiful web turquoise it produces. I love to cut the hearts in different shapes (Designer) so you can see them and put your artistic talents to work in making a design to match the heart. The Natural #8 commands one of the Highest prices on the market. Stabilized Web #8 turquoise while not getting the high prices as it’s Natural counterpart still has a great market and selling point, people know and love #8 turquoise. The mine is currently closed and has not produced for many years and material both Natural and Stabilized are harder and harder to find. Most of the #8 turquoise mined does require stabilizing due to the soft nature of the matrix this material has been professionally Stabilized by my good friends at the Kingman mine the world leader in stabilizing turquoise. The Son and I do all the cutting work we never farm it out. We are Native American gem cutters, we are registered members of the federally recognized Native American tribe Wichita Indians out of Oklahoma. The photos in this listing are taken in natural sunlight on a white background. I do this because any color background except white can alter the colors in the photo. I realize Direct sunlight and white background is the worst possible conditions to photo in. I would rather have you say it looks so much better in hand then be disappointed when you get the stone. If you would like a photo in shade, just ask.
