Iron Maiden Turquoise mine, located in the Candelaria Hills near the Sierra Nevada mine. This is the new Nevada Turquoise Mine found in December of 2020 and first revealed to the public at the 2021 Tucson Gem show It is located high up on the ridge overlooking the Nevada Great Basin to the east and the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California to the west. The Iron Maiden Turquoise mine is owned by my good friends Trent and Tony Otteson. Although the turquoise is close in proximity to the Sierra Nevada it has its own look and known for the polychrome colors, Brown, Green and Blue. To date (9-3-2021) the pit is only about 10 feet by 10 feet and has to date produced approximately 300 pounds of nuggets ranging in size from a small pebble to a fist. This Material was stabilized by my friends at the Kingman Mine they are the world leaders in Stabilizing Turquoise. The Son and I do all the cutting work we never farm it out. We are Native American gem cutters, registered members of the federally recognized Native American tribe Wichita Indians out of Oklahoma. To be clear “100% NATURAL” it is all turquoise no backing was used If it just says “NATURAL” it is natural and backed with JB Weld. The photos in this listing are taken in natural sunlight on a white background. I do this because any color background except white can alter the colors in the photo. I realize Direct sunlight and white background is the worst possible conditions to photo in. I would rather have you say it looks so much better in hand then be disappointed when you get the stone. If you would like a photo in shade, just ask.
